Hi HKN Inductees,
Thanks to those of you that came out during Maryland Day. There are a few induction items I would like to address:
Induction Ceremony
The induction ceremony will be held on Wednesday, May 6 at 6:30 in AVW2328. You must attend the ceremony in order to be inducted (unless you have made prior arragements with us). Before that you must also complete the induction exam, wheatstone bridge replica, and member interviews, which will be described below. The dress code is Business Casual.
In addition, elections will take place at this time. All positions need to be filled since most of the current HKN officers are graduating. The officer positions available include:
- President <—— you need to be a current HKN exec board member to run for this
- Vice President
- Treasurer
- Induction Chair
- Fundraising Chair
- Outreach Chair
- Professional Chair
- Webmaster
Please give this some consideration.
Induction Exam
The Inductee Exam will be held on Monday, May 4th at 7:00 pm in AVW2328. This is a mandatory requirement for induction. See the study packet here on what topics will be covered. If you cannot make it, please let me know ASAP so we can make arrangements for you to take the exam during the week.
Wheatstone Bridge Replica
The Wheatstone Bridge Replica is due on the day of induction. Look in the induction packet for details. You can get as creative as you want with this project.
Member Interviews
Due to the lack of events and inductee-office interactions this semester, I will make the following arrangement: We can do a group interview during the induction exam with me and a couple of HKN officers who show up this Monday and on the day of the induction ceremony. You need to do a minimum of three, two of which have to be officers. If you have already done the interviews, you can turn in your sheets either this Monday or Wednesday. Basically, if you haven’t done them already, don’t worry since you will have an opportunity to complete this before or on Wednesday.
Closing Remarks
It looks like most of you who have paid their dues are on track to earn enough points. If you have any questions, please let me know at my email: cwallac3@terpmail.umd.edu.
Thank you for bearing with us and we look forward to have you join HKN!
